Upgrades

As the life of a building evolves, new equipment and plant are planned and installed. It is more than probable that the control systems also need to be updated to maximise the functionality of the new equipment.

The ongoing research and development of control systems and components also mean that even if the M&E or the HVAC plant is not updated, the

BEMS may benefit from being upgraded. The benefits of upgrading can be many:

  • Reductions in operating cost
  • More efficient and comfortable buildings
  • Better remote monitoring and/or control
  • Improved data and understanding of the behaviour of the building

Concise Controls can help identify the components that need to be upgraded and will create a Schedule of Equipment that illustrate, and detail all requirements for system upgrades. This can be either be directed by the client, M&E contractor or left to our consultancy service to identify the potential weaknesses and possible failure points due to the age of components, the lack of functionality or the wear rate and anticipated lifetime.

Old Trend kit, maybe 1st or 2nd generation, will not be functionally rich. It doesn’t support monitoring and targeting and replacement parts may become difficult to obtain

Do you have an old system?

Concise Controls can design a new control system around an existing HVAC installation - we can replace legacy systems with a new BEMS

An upgrade may be necessary due to legislative changes. Buildings that are leased/rented have to adhere to certain energy efficiencies otherwise the building cannot be rented. Contact us to discuss.

Our consultancy service covers all components of the system and ensures the correct i/o, sensors, input and output points - speed, volume, pressure and heat adhere to current specifications, building control regulations and legislation.

Timely upgrades ensure all the monitoring and feedback loop operates as designed and ensure the correct running of the building.
